Why am I running for re-election?
I love Columbia and continue to believe in it. I moved here in late 2001 following my retirement from the Navy and grew to love it. As the home to the University of Columbia and other growing businesses, Columbia provides numerous employment opportunities and a welcoming environment to raise a family.

I am running for re-election because there is still much to be done:
-
Staffing for CPD – We’ve made progress. Columbia has gone from roughly 40 vacancies to 14 as of Jan 26th. We need to fill those vacancies, then look to add the 50 officers that Chief Schlude said she needs.
-
Infrastructure – Several projects are moving forward. The reality is government works slowly, and I want to see them through.
-
Economic development, housing, homeless are other issues that will require attention in the coming years. I want to be part of it.
